Kingsley House Joins CWLA in Unconditionally Standing with the Asian American Community
CWLA Statement: We Stand with the Asian American Community
The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) expresses it deep concern and dismay about the increased violence and number of hate crimes targeted at the Asian American population. The murders in Georgia on Tuesday, March 16 are only the latest and most dramatic instances.
We stand with the Asian American community across the country in our concern and outrage over these horrific acts. We call on all people across this country to do their part in seeing that these acts and expressions of hatred are stopped immediately.
It is becoming too common for people acting through social media or in their day-to-day encounters to encourage such hatred. What is happening is not okay. It needs to stop.
We call on all elected officials to set an example in their words, their deeds, and all forms of communication to oppose such hatred instead of encouraging it.
