Home-Based Early Head Start

The Early Head Start Parents as Educators (PAE) program is for expecting moms and children birth to 3 years old.

The PAE program provides comprehensive services to ensure healthy prenatal outcomes, enhance the growth and development of young children, and assist parents in creating safe, stimulating home child care environments.

The program takes place in the family’s home or virtually with parents leading the curriculum. Staff known as Parent Educators develop and maintain supportive, strength-based, culturally-sensitive relationships with young children and their families. Through this program parents become their child’s first teacher, creating a personalized educational experience and enhancing parent-child relationships.

Eligibility Requirements

Pregnant moms and children ages birth to 3 years old
Must be a resident of Jefferson or Orleans Parish
Must have a qualifying income based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines and provide necessary documents upon enrolling
